The Candidate will perform duties under general supervision of Payroll Manager. Must be able to interact with the public in an effective and courteous manner. Must be able to independently perform administrative & data entry tasks, maintain automated systems and physical files with minimum supervision. Requires mental flexibility and the adaptability of heavy cyclical workloads. The following are examples of work. Prepares checks and remittance advice to vendors for payroll deduction submissions. Maintains employee master files to include updating direct deposit, Federal and State withholding allowances, deductions, incomes codes and general ledger accounts Communicates deadlines to payroll clerks for the timely submission of employee information and hours Verifies a variety of transactions related to all current active employees, new hires and terminated employees to ensure accurate payroll compensation. This includes retroactive pay, administrative upgrades, promotions, bonuses, adjustments and fringe benefits Computes final pay for terminated and retired employees to include any unused leave and deduction reimbursements Works closely with Human Resources, other department Payroll Clerks, Risk Management, and Benefits on all aspects of the payroll process and systems Assists in preparing Month, Quarter and Year-end reports Assists with the issuances of all W-2 forms Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Some knowledge of payroll practices, and income tax reporting preferred. Exceptional customer service skills. Must be able to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy. Proficiency in use of personal computer with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to follow complex oral and written directions. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Must successfully complete a background investigation related to this position. #teamk
