Payroll & Benefits Clerk WenGAP is a Wendy's franchise organization operating 38 restaurants across Virginia. We are hiring a Payroll & Benefits Clerk to join our corporate office team. This role owns the bi-weekly payroll cycle from the office side and keeps our benefits enrollment and deduction records accurate for a workforce of restaurant crew, managers, and salaried staff. This is a detail-driven, deadline-driven desk. Payroll closes on the same day every other week and does not wait. If you are the kind of person who works from a checklist, notices when a number doesn't tie out, and follows up until you get an answer, you will do well here. What you'll do Process the bi-weekly payroll cycle from close through final adjustments, resolving time and pay exceptions before the processing deadline Review timekeeping data for accuracy (overtime, missed punches, PTO, and terminations) and work with District Managers to correct issues before the file locks Administer benefits enrollment and eligibility, including new-hire enrollment windows, waiver tracking, and 401(k) participant records Reconcile carrier and vendor invoices against payroll deductions, and verify deduction codes and amounts each cycle Run and distribute recurring payroll and employee reports to leadership and field management Complete required government and compliance reporting on schedule Manage the office and accounts-payable inboxes, returning calls and closing out open items daily What we're looking for 2+ years of payroll, benefits administration, bookkeeping, or high-volume administrative experience (multi-location or hourly workforce experience is a strong plus) Comfortable in
Excel or Google Sheets:
sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reconciling two reports against each other Experience with a payroll or HRIS platform (UKG/UltiPro, Paylocity, ADP, Paycom, or similar) Strong written communication.
