Job Description

Position Summary The Payroll Clerk performs a customer service role for the employees at Costco Travel. This role is responsible for answering employee and management questions about payroll, policies, FMLA/LOA, job postings, and a variety of other questions in person, over the telephone, and through email. The Payroll Clerk will also be assigned various tasks and projects. The expected schedule for this position is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Job Duties/Essential Functions Provides prompt, courteous customer service at all times. Assists employees with payroll, personnel, and benefit questions or concerns. Processes new employee information and updates existing records in the payroll system. Processes reports, including review reminders for management and payroll, turnover, and forecasting for senior management. Assists with administering leaves, return to work, and workers' compensation for Costco Travel. Engages in a large volume of communication with employees, both verbally in person or over the phone and through email. Coordinates or assists with new hire onboarding activities, including new hire orientation. Facilitates several projects simultaneously. Publishes job postings to the Costco Travel Intranet sites and physically posts them at Costco Travel. Ensures proper disposal of potentially hazardous materials. Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery Computer, phone, copier, printer, fax, calculator. Essential Functions Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required:
Basic to intermediate experience with Excel. General understanding of Costco's Pay Policies, Leaves of Absence, Workers' Compensation, and Employee Agreement. Ability to maintain accuracy with attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment with constantly changing priorities. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent verbal and written communication. Displays exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Dependable, self-motivated with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Ability to interact well with all departments and levels of management. Ability to remain professional when working with sensitive situations.
Recommended:
Payroll/Admin experience preferred. Ability to recognize issues/problems and proactively seek solutions. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Other Conditions Management will review the Job Analysis for this position prior to a job offer.
