Spokane, WA - In Office Reports to: HR Director and Finance Director About the Role Mustard Seed Management is looking for an organized, detail-oriented HR & Payroll Coordinator to join our corporate office team. We support eight restaurant locations across Washington, Idaho, and Montana, and this position plays an important role in keeping the day-to-day HR and payroll functions running smoothly. This is a 22-hour-per-week, four-day-a-week position, working 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in our Spokane office. The HR & Payroll Coordinator will work closely with the HR Director and Finance Director to process payroll, maintain accurate employee information, support benefits administration, assist employees with HR systems, and carry out established HR processes across our locations. This role is a good fit for someone with strong administrative skills and experience in HR, payroll, benefits, or HR systems who is ready to take on broader responsibility in a busy, multi-location environment. What You'll Do Payroll & HR Systems Process payroll for multiple restaurant locations Review timekeeping and payroll information for accuracy before payroll is finalized Maintain accurate employee information in our HRIS and related systems Help employees troubleshoot access to Paylocity and other company technology Run regular and ad hoc HR and payroll reports Review new-hire onboarding information for completeness and accuracy Help maintain employee records and HR documentation Benefits & Employee Support Assist with day-to-day benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee questions Help employees navigate HR systems, benefits information, and company processes Track required employee certifications and follow up on expiring or missing documentation Complete employment-related administrative requests and verifications HR Administration & Compliance Perform spot checks of time records and break compliance Assist with unemployment claims and gather supporting documentation Assist with worker's compensation claims, gathering information and supporting documentation Maintain current job descriptions Research market starting wages for restaurant positions Prepare reports and information for HR and company leadership Carry out established HR policies and procedures Assist with other HR and payroll projects as needed What We're Looking For A strong candidate will have: Previous administrative, payroll, HR, benefits, or related office experience Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organization and follow-through Comfort working with confidential employee and payroll information Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook Strong written and verbal communication skills The ability to manage recurring deadlines while also responding to day-to-day employee needs Preferred Experience Previous experience processing payroll Experience working in an HRIS Paylocity experience Experience with employee onboarding or benefits administration Experience supporting a multi-location employer Restaurant, hospitality, or other high-volume hourly workforce experience Who Will Do Well Here You'll likely be successful in this position if you are someone who likes making sure things are right.
