Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations for an organization in the energy and natural resources sector in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable handling clerical and HR system-related tasks with accuracy. The role will contribute to timely payroll processing, maintain employee records, and help ensure day-to-day administrative activities run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll-related transactions accurately and on schedule while verifying supporting information for completeness.
- Maintain employee payroll records and update data within HR systems to reflect changes in status, pay, or deductions.
- Perform clerical support tasks such as organizing documentation, entering information, and preparing payroll files for review.
- Review payroll details to identify discrepancies, research issues, and assist with correcting errors in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather required information and ensure payroll activities align with company procedures.
- Support routine operational workflows by tracking deadlines, maintaining documentation, and responding to payroll-related inquiries.
- Assist with record retention and ensure payroll documents are filed and stored in an orderly and confidential manner. Requirements
- Experience supporting payroll, clerical, or administrative functions in a detail-focused environment.
- Working knowledge of HR systems and the ability to enter, update, and manage employee information accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle payroll data and documentation carefully.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage recurring tasks within established timelines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with employees and internal departments.
- Proficiency with general office and operational processes, including data entry and document management.
