The Relationship Banker provides high-touch customer contact, builds customer relations through active engagement with prospects, opens accounts, and takes Residential Mortgage Loan applications and forwards them to the Loan Officer for processing.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responds to customer requests for technical assistance with online banking, mobile banking, etc. account information, related products, and services in a real-time environment. Answers emails, faxes, and incoming telephone calls from prospective and existing customers regarding a variety of banking-related questions and concerns while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Handle customers' online banking request(s). Obtain approval from the Branch Manager, etc. prior to creating online banking account identification, and follow up with the customer(s) within 24 hours in accordance with the online banking procedures. Organize and participate in bank-sponsored community events. Make courtesy calls to customers with negative account balance(s). Grow branch deposit business through community outreach activities or internal and external referrals. Build and maintain long-term customer relations and provide exceptional customer service. Provide leadership, customer engagement training, and supervision to retail team members. Monitor and report customers' unusual or suspicious activities. Conduct work in accordance with the bank's policies and procedures and regulatory standards to ensure safety and soundness. Complete compliance training in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
College degree required. Minimum of 2 years of relationship development experience in a banking or other financial institution. Sales experience in a goal-oriented environment is preferred. Ability to multi-task (listening to customers, typing, and analyzing information) simultaneously. Ability to think critically, solve problems, develop customer relationships, sell products and offer company services and embrace new challenges. Ability to communicate effectively, courteously and provide the customer with accurate information. Excellent telephone etiquette. Proficiency in Jack Henry System Xperience, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word). International Bank of Chicago is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
