East Cambridge Savings Banks Operations Division is actively recruiting for a Deposit Services Specialist. Function Under the direction of the Deposit Operations Manager, performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to account services. We are looking for a candidate with:
Minimum of 3 years retail banking and 1 year administrative experience performing account maintenanceWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment with strong attention to detail
Assists in the processing of the abandoned property accounts and prepares customer correspondence in a timely manner. Researches customer relationships for recent contact, remits funds to the State, and prepares board reports.
Reviews TIN mismatch reports and resolves discrepancies with customer information. Prepares and forwards tax related forms such as W-9s, W-8s and 1099 Interest forms to customers in accordance with government regulations. Administers and monitors backup withholding on customers accounts when necessary. Resolves problems or discrepancies as needed.
Responsible for mailing customer notices and assists with returned mail in a timely manner in accordance with regulations. Ensures accounts are coded and return logs are updated per Bank procedures.
Assists with return deposit items in accordance with regulation CC in a timely manner. Re-deposits items or debit customers accounts as necessary. Assists with the check adjustments as needed. Assists with the Federal Reserve GL daily and ensures timely resolution with discrepancies. Prepares and mails customer correspondence.
Assists with preparing correspondence related to interest rate changes, updating rate sheets, communicating changes to third party vendors and preparing board reports. Assists with monitoring and maintaining the interest rate on the State Business Banking account. Assists with wiring the interest to the state on a quarterly basis in accordance with program guidelines.
Assists with the daily Trial Balances reports, Subpoenas and Summonses as needed.
Processes the Charge Offs and Recoveries and uploads the Collections files.
Reviews the Overdraft Report and performs the required maintenance on the accounts as needed.
Maintains procedures manual and complete and accurate files for area of responsibility. Performs other administrative tasks as needed such as sorting and distributing department mail.
