JOB SUMMARY
The Banker I is responsible for core customer service interactions including processing customer transactions accurately and in a timely manner, responding positively to inquiries, safeguarding customer information, and detecting and preventing fraud. This client-facing role is key to creating an outstanding customer experience by developing quality relationships through caring conversations, identifying customer needs, and recommending products and services as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Processes transactions accurately and efficiently; follow proper cash handling procedures; balances cash drawer and adhere to established cash limits, buying and selling currency from the vault Fields incoming customer service calls referencing knowledge of Company operations, products, services, and programsAnswers account and banking related questions such as interest rates, service charges, and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policiesPrevents and detects fraud by identifying counterfeit currency and monetary instruments, including cashiers checks, money orders, and domestic/international wire transfers, following customer identity verification, adhering to check cashing and dual-control proceduresPerform daily reconciliation and maintenance for the ATM and process night depository bags under dual control as assignedProtects customer and Company resources by following security requirements such as executing branch opening and closing protocols ensuring branch safetyIdentifies opportunities to provide additional products or services to generate client referrals; refer customers to partners when additional expertise is requiredPromotes and demonstrates self-service banking options, including mobile applications, online banking, and ATM functionalities, to enhance customer convenienceMaintains an organized work area and performs administrative tasks such as filing, scanning checks, and organizing transaction receiptsMaintains up-to-date knowledge of and adheres to applicable federal regulations and Company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certifications:
-High School Diploma or GED required-2 years of experience in customer service, cash handling, or retail sales preferred
Skills/Knowledge:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, in English, with the ability to communicate confidentially, clearly, professionally, and confidently with customers, internal partners, management, and other stakeholders; bilingual is a plusDemonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer service with a courteous, patient, and professional demeanorStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow procedures Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining aware of surroundings and prioritiesDemonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and a high level of integrity when handling confidential informationProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and ability to effectively learn and utilize department specific systems and software
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods of timeAbility to repetitively use a telephone, computer mouse, and keyboard for extended durationsAbility to move, lift, carry cash bags, coin boxes, and branch equipment up to 30 poundsTravel to various branches as needed; travel can be completed by car, public transportation, or other reasonable means. Ability to travel is required to maintain client relationships and support business objective.

The salary range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 an hour commensurate with experience and education. Additional compensation may be earned through the Companys annual bonus program, subject to individual and company performance.

L1-st1 40 hours distributed between Monday - Saturday based on location hours
