Job Description

Description Relationship Banker Basic Qualifications Education/Training Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a related field normally required. Specialized banking education and training. Skills Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and sales skills. Thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services. Working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures affecting bank services. Valid driver's license. General Responsibilities Generate new profitable financial relationships, focusing on: Commercial Small Business Bank at Work Municipal segments Emphasize commercial loans, deposits, and cash management relationships. Identify and acquire new banking relationships through a self-managed calling program. Effectively hand off leads to relationship managers. Develop and present sales proposals to target clients. Understand industry-specific credit needs, financial product requirements, and market trends. Act as a liaison between customers and other bank service lines and product groups.

Essential Duties Work Schedule Regular attendance is required and will vary by position. Specific schedules and hours should be discussed with the supervisor or division head. Hours are determined annually and submitted to Human Resources through the Budgeted Hours Report. The Bank reserves the right to adjust schedules based on business needs. Business Development and Sales Participate in the Bank's business development program and achieve established sales objectives.
Conduct business development calls with:
Prospective customers Existing customers Strengthen customer relationships and identify cross-selling opportunities. Develop promotional ideas for assigned market areas. Develop new individual and business customers. Increase deposit accounts and cross-sell opportunities in both number and volume. Conduct joint calls with team members to support service delivery to current and prospective customers. Sales Reporting and Performance Provide sales information in a timely manner for inclusion in customer service and sales performance reports. Monitor individual sales performance against established objectives. Regularly discuss performance with the appropriate supervisor. Customer Service Maintain a thorough knowledge of all bank products and services. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking solutions.
Provide direct service related to:
Deposit products Loan products Other bank services Assist customers in obtaining specialized services from other departments. Resolve customer inquiries and service issues. Operational Responsibilities Maintain a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures. Prepare and maintain accurate records of: Customer service calls Meetings with current customers Meetings with prospective customers Pipeline activities Achieve individual goals established for the position. Community Involvement and Professional Development Actively participate in community activities that positively represent the Bank. Attend internal and external training programs and seminars for professional development. Participate in civic, governmental, professional, business, and community organizations to develop new business opportunities. Promote the Bank's positive image within the community. Compliance and Risk Management Comply with all established operating policies and procedures. Support the Bank's internal controls and regulatory compliance requirements. Respond to inquiries from customers and bank personnel within established timeframes and policies. Serve on committees as assigned. Additional Responsibilities May occasionally provide courier services for business customer transactions. Ancillary Duties Attend sales meetings, trade meetings, and similar events as a Bank representative. Develop new business opportunities and gather information on prospective business relationships. Perform additional supportive tasks related to the position, which may be modified based on business or individual circumstances.
