Position Overview:
The Junior Financial Advisor will support the advisory team while developing the skills, experience, and industry knowledge needed to grow into a Financial Advisor role. This position will have a strong focus on business development, including increasing brand awareness, cultivating referral opportunities, networking within the community, and helping prospective clients through the business development process. Working closely with the advisory team, the Junior Financial Advisor will also gain hands-on exposure to the practice's wealth planning process, client service model, and day-to-day advisory activities. This may include assisting with meeting preparation, gathering and organizing client and prospect information, supporting wealth and investment planning activities, and participating in client and prospect meetings as appropriate. We are looking for someone who is relationship-driven, enjoys connecting with people, and is motivated to build a long-term career in financial services. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable developing professional relationships, and interested in progressing toward industry licensing and increased advisory responsibilities over time. Compensation Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Support business development initiatives by helping advisors cultivate relationships with prospective and existing clients. Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and meeting materials for prospect meetings and client reviews. Coordinate follow up activities with prospective clients and referrers to help maintain a consistent business development process. Help identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships through personalized communications and outreach. Maintain and update prospect and referral activity within the CRM, ensuring accurate records and timely follow up. Assist in planning and executing networking events, educational seminars, and client appreciation events that support practice growth. Research local networking organizations, community events, and any opportunities which might align with the practice's business development strategy. Track business development activities and marketing initiatives, helping monitor progress toward practice growth goals. Collaborate with advisors to support referral initiatives and enhance the overall client and prospect experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience). 1-2 years of experience in a sales, marketing, or administrative support role; experience in a small business environment is a plus. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and social media platforms; experience with email marketing and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe) is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Working Conditions:
This is an in-person position based at our office. We value ambition and are committed to supporting your professional growth. This role provides opportunities for advancement as you gain additional qualifications and deepen your knowledge of the financial services industry. As part of the role, you will be expected to obtain your SIE, Series 66, and applicable insurance licenses within six months of your start date. We provide resources to help you prepare for the required licensing exams, including study materials.
