The Financial Coach will work closely with the Regional Director and Financial Coach to help participants understand their financial circumstances, establish realistic goals, improve financial habits, and develop practical strategies toward greater financial stability. This position also supports the day-to-day operation of Jobs Partnership programs. In addition to direct participant services, the Financial Coach will assist with administrative and program-related responsibilities as assigned. The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, dependable, encouraging, and comfortable working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. They should be able to discuss financial challenges without judgment and help participants turn their goals into realistic, actionable steps. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one financial coaching to Jobs Partnership participants.
  • Assist participants in establishing short- and long-term financial goals.
  • Complete financial assessments and help participants better understand their overall financial health.

  • Review credit reports with participants and provide education and strategies related to building or improving credit.
  • Help participants identify barriers to financial stability and develop individualized plans of action.
  • Provide ongoing participant check-ins, encouragement, accountability, and follow-up.
  • Connect participants with appropriate community resources, financial institutions, and other services when additional assistance is needed.
  • Maintain regular contact with participants and assist with participant retention and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, participant records, financial assessments, and other required documentation.
  • Track participant progress, services, and outcomes for program and grant-reporting purposes.
  • Assist with financial education classes and workshops on topics such as budgeting, credit, banking, savings, and financial goal setting.
  • Collaborate with Jobs Partnership staff to support participants' employment and financial goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive participant and financial information.
  • Provide general administrative and program support as assigned, including data entry, filing, participant documentation, scheduling, preparing materials, answering phones, and other office-related tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership personnel. Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of personal finance, particularly budgeting, credit, banking, savings, and financial goal setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish professional, trusting relationships with participants.
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts in a practical, easy-to-understand manner.
  • Comfortable working with individuals experiencing unemployment, underemployment, financial hardship, or other barriers to economic stability.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a small team.
  • Comfortable maintaining participant records, completing documentation, and performing routine administrative tasks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams and general computer/database systems.
  • Previous experience in financial services, banking, lending, nonprofit services, workforce development, coaching, case management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
What We're Looking For This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys helping people, can balance direct participant interaction with behind-the-scenes administrative work, and is comfortable working in a small nonprofit environment where team members often support multiple areas of the program. We are looking for someone who is dependable, flexible, organized, and willing to take initiative. The right person will understand that successful financial coaching is not about telling someone what they have done wrong - it is about helping them understand their options, set achievable goals, and take meaningful steps forward.
