Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Junior Advisor will assist in achieving the Bank's goals related to the marketing and sale of non-bank investment products and support senior advisors in delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment services to clients. This position focuses on developing client relationships, assisting with annual reviews and financial plan preparation, identifying client needs, and providing exceptional service while gaining the skills and experience necessary to manage an independent client portfolio.OUTCOMES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Other duties may be assigned) Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial planning concepts and financial services products and their application in meeting client needs. Gather, analyze, and organize client financial information and assist in the preparation of financial plans, reports, and recommendations for review and use by the Investment Advisor in developing client strategies and recommendations. Respond to client inquiries regarding investment products, brokerage services, asset allocation strategies, tax-free and tax-deferred investments, trust and estate planning, income planning, retirement planning, and other related financial matters. Manage inbound calls and emails from Investment Center clients and collaborate with the Investment Advisor on client communications. Partner with the Investment Advisor to implement a structured client contact strategy and support annual client review meetings. Maintain complete and accurate client records, notes, and documentation in accordance with firm and regulatory requirements. Assist in preparing and conducting client guidance discussions that support the overall financial strategies developed for clients. Support pre- and post-client appointment activities, including conducting follow-up calls, identifying client objectives, and preparing for future meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. FINRA Series 7 license required prior to employment. FINRA Series 66 license required prior to employment. Life and Health Insurance licenses required prior to employment. Additional licenses and registrations may be required based on regulatory or business requirements. Must maintain a valid driver's license. Must be bondable by the Bank's surety company. Must be willing and able to travel as needed, including occasional overnight travel for conferences, training, and professional development opportunities.REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong understanding of financial planning concepts and investment products and their application in meeting client needs. Ability to analyze, organize, and synthesize financial information to support client recommendations and financial planning strategies. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and client service skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, employees, investment providers, and business partners. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to interpret and apply investment documentation, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and utilize financial services software and technology platforms. Ability to calculate commissions, percentages, interest, ratios, and other financial calculations applicable to investment services. Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment when evaluating client needs and service-related matters. Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and office equipment, and communicate effectively in person and by phone. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and perform computer-based work for extended periods. Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to travel to client meetings, community events, training opportunities, and other Bank locations as needed. Work is primarily performed in an indoor, climate-controlled office environment. Noise level is typically moderate. Regular interaction with customers, employees, investment representatives, and business partners is required. Position may require work before or after normal business hours, including occasional Saturdays, to meet client and business needs.
