Job Description
The Role The Advisor Consultant Internship is a nine-week summer experience beginning in June 2027, designed to immerse students in the fast-paced world of financial sales, marketing, and client service at one of the world's fastest-growing asset managers. Interns will gain firsthand exposure to investment markets, products, and consultative sales strategies, while working closely with senior leaders and experienced professionals across the firm. Throughout the program, interns will participate in a comprehensive, industry-leading training curriculum that builds technical knowledge and professional skills. They'll collaborate on cross-functional projects, gaining insight into multiple departments and how they contribute to Lord Abbett's mission of serving clients. Interns will be paired with dedicated mentors from day one, receive weekly feedback, and have regular opportunities to engage with leadership, ensuring a supportive and growth-oriented experience. This program is eligible for a full-time return offer. This role serves as a direct pipeline to Regional Manager positions across the West, Midwest, South, Southeast, and Northeast regions. Upon promotion, Regional Managers transition into the region they'll oversee allowing them to enrich existing relationships, identify cross-selling opportunities and originate new producers We'll trust you to: Develop a basic understanding of financial markets, and exhibit curiosity and passion for continuous learning Develop a basic knowledge of mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and retirement products Demonstrate a deep understanding of, and be able to present, top selling Lord Abbett investment vehicles Explain current market conditions and the potential impact on our investment products Partner with the Leadership Team to assist with projects pertaining to U.S. Retail Initiatives Assist Advisor Consultants and Regional Managers with marketing materials for financial advisors Take notes on webinars, team meetings, and industry related events for Advisor Consultants Shadow successful Advisor Consultants and deliver key takeaways to the Leadership Team Think proactively and execute on ideas that can add value to the team Work closely with the senior sales specialists to complete tasks such as, but not limited to: Following up on prospective client meetings, using email and other digital tools Using financial software to create Illustrations of our fund performance Demonstrating creative thinking and analytical skills to analyze and articulate our product advantages vs. key competitors You'll need to have: Ambition to pursue a client-facing career in financial services, with a strong interest in relationship management and sales The aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Must be graduating between December 2027 to June 2028 Eligible for full-time employment in Winter or Summer 2028 Why Lord Abbett?
