This role is ideal for an emerging financial planning professional who has recently earned, is actively pursuing, or is on track to obtain the CFP® certification. The successful candidate will support senior advisors in delivering comprehensive financial planning services to high-net worth individuals and families. The Associate Financial Planner will play a key role in developing financial plans, analyzing client data, preparing planning deliverables, and helping create an exceptional client experience. The Associate Financial Planner will also support trust administration activities for trusts in which firm advisors serve as individual or personal trustees. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and maintenance of comprehensive financial plans for clients. Develop and update cash flow projections, retirement analyses, education funding plans. Create estate planning diagrams, wealth transfer illustrations, and family balance sheet summaries. Gather, organize, and analyze client financial information and supporting documentation. Utilize eMoney (or comparable financial planning software) to build, maintain, and present financial planning scenarios. Support advisors before and during client meetings by preparing materials, taking notes, and tracking follow-up action items. Review existing client plans and identify planning opportunities related to investments, insurance, tax, retirement, and estate planning. Review trust agreements and summarize key provisions to ensure trust activities are administered in accordance with governing documents and fiduciary obligations.
Track and monitor trust provisions:
generate task reports and ensure tasks are completed according to deadlines. Prepare trust distribution requests and supporting documentation for trustee review and approval. Obtain and review annual in-force life insurance illustrations and policy reviews for trust owned insurance policies. Coordinate with internal teams and external professionals, including attorneys, accountants, and insurance specialists. Stay current on financial planning best practices, industry trends, and regulatory developments. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Financial Planning, Economics, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or a related financial services role. CFP® certification, CFP® candidate status, or active pursuit of CFP® certification. Experience preparing financial plans, cash flow analyses, and planning recommendations. Proficiency with eMoney Advisor or comparable financial planning software. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. Preferred Previous experience working for a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), family office, multifamily office, or wealth management firm. Exposure to comprehensive wealth planning and trust administration for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. Familiarity with estate planning concepts, trust structures, wealth transfer strategies, and family governance discussions. Experience with CRM systems such as Wealthbox, Salesforce, Redtail, or similar platforms. Desired Characteristics Passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals.
