Job Description

The University of Cincinnati seeks a Financial Aid Advisor to support students through the financial aid process within Enrollment Management. In this student-centered role, you will counsel prospective and current students on federal, state, and institutional aid, evaluate applications, and package awards to support access and retention. You will interpret complex regulations, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with admissions and campus partners. Responsibilities Advise prospective and current students on federal, state, and institutional financial aid options Interpret and apply financial aid regulations, policies, and eligibility criteria Evaluate financial aid applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness Package and revise aid awards to support student enrollment and retention goals Educate students and families on borrowing, budgeting, and repayment responsibilities Collaborate with Enrollment Management, admissions, and academic advisors to support recruitment and retention Conduct workshops, presentations, and outreach on financial aid and scholarship opportunities Maintain accurate records in student information systems while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality Provide high-quality, student-centered customer service via email, phone, and in-person meetings Contribute to process improvements, compliance efforts, and special projects within Enrollment Management Required Skills Financial aid regulations (Title IV, federal and state aid) FAFSA processing and needs analysis Student information systems (e.g., Banner, People Soft) Financial literacy and loan counseling Data entry and records management Customer service and student advising Presentation and workshop facilitation Compliance and documentation Microsoft Excel and Office Suite Written and verbal communication
