Job Description

Why Richmond Brothers Richmond Brothers is a locally owned Registered Investment Adviser specializing in helping individuals and families navigate retirement. We're a small, entrepreneurial team, and we've intentionally built a firm where our values matter, people know one another, and individual contributions have a real impact. Just imagine joining a firm where you can focus on what you do best—meeting people, building relationships and winning new business—without having to build everything from scratch. You'll have firm-generated opportunities, an established marketing and seminar engine, experienced advisors to learn from, and a service team ready to support the clients you bring to the firm. You won't be one of hundreds of advisors. Your ideas will matter. Your results will be noticed. You'll have access to leadership, opportunities to continue developing personally and professionally, and a team that genuinely wants to see you succeed. We care deeply about how we treat our clients and one another . We value people who are driven but humble, confident but coachable, willing to ask questions, accountable for their commitments, and always looking for ways to get better. We're not the right fit for everyone—and that's okay. But if you're energized by meeting new people, motivated by growth, excited by the opportunity to make an impact within a smaller firm, and looking for a team you can grow alongside, we'd really like to get to know you. This is primarily a new-business and closing role. Your primary focus will be guiding prospective clients through Richmond Brothers' established sales process, helping them understand the value we can provide, and bringing new relationships and assets to the firm. Key Responsibilities
  • Own qualified opportunities through the Richmond Brothers sales process , serving as a primary point of contact for prospective clients from initial conversations through the decision to move forward.
  • Conduct consultative prospect meetings to uncover goals, concerns, financial needs, and retirement objectives; clearly communicate Richmond Brothers' value and present appropriate financial strategies.
  • Build trust and confidently ask for the business , thoughtfully addressing questions and objections while helping prospects make informed decisions when Richmond Brothers is the right fit.
  • Own individual production goals and pipeline performance , maintaining momentum through timely follow-up, clear next steps, and a strong understanding of conversion and progress toward new-business goals.
  • Work firm-generated opportunities from seminars, referrals, marketing campaigns, and other prospecting channels, providing timely CRM documentation, lead disposition, and feedback to help improve lead quality and conversion.
  • Participate in educational seminars and prospecting/client events , including presenting and speaking to groups of prospective clients.
  • Collaborate closely with advisors, new business, service, and operations teams to ensure an accurate and seamless transition from prospect to client.
Training & Development Expectations Richmond Brothers provides significant training, coaching, and access to experienced advisors. We expect the person in this role to take ownership of their development.
You will be expected to:
Learn and consistently follow Richmond Brothers' established sales process, planning philosophy, meeting structure, documentation standards, and new-business transition process. Actively participate in coaching, training, meeting observation, role-play, and professional development. Prepare thoroughly for prospect meetings and training sessions. Seek feedback, apply it, and demonstrate continuous improvement. Take initiative in learning our clients, products, planning approach, technology, and tools. Follow through on commitments without requiring ongoing reminders. Who Thrives Here We are a small, entrepreneurial team that values accountability, collaboration, curiosity, coachability, and doing what is right for the client. You may be a great fit if you: Get energy from meeting new people, building trust, and helping prospective clients feel confident moving forward. Are driven by goals and motivated by results. Want coaching and actively apply feedback. Take ownership, follow through, and hold yourself accountable. Bring experience while remaining willing to learn a new process. Care about your teammates and believe great client experiences require collaboration. Believe doing what's right for the client matters more than making a sale. Qualifications Required Active Series 65 or equivalent and valid MI Life/Health insurance license. 3+ years of experience in financial advising, wealth management, investment sales, or a related financial-services sales role. Demonstrated success converting prospective clients and closing new business in a relationship-based or consultative sales environment. Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills including being comfortable presenting and speaking in front of groups. Ability to listen actively, uncover needs, build trust, communicate value, and guide prospects toward a decision. Working knowledge of retirement planning, investment management, and financial-planning concepts. Demonstrated ability to receive coaching and incorporate feedback. Willingness to travel quarterly and attend occasional evening/weekend prospecting or client events. Preferred CFP® designation. Experience in a fiduciary, client-first environment. Experience with retirement-income planning, Social Security, annuities, and estate-planning strategies. Experience working with retirees or individuals approaching retirement. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Compensation & Benefits Compensation range: $75,000-$150,000+ , including sales-based incentive opportunities. Compensation will include a base salary and performance-based incentive opportunity, with flexibility in structure based on experience, production expectations, and mutual fit. Strong producers will have meaningful upside tied to new business results. Employer-paid health insurance for the employee. Retirement plan contribution with matching up to 6%. 160 hours of paid time off annually. Access to a steady pipeline of firm-generated opportunities supported by Richmond Brothers' marketing and prospecting efforts. Opportunities for professional development, sales training, and career growth. Collaborative, team-oriented environment where individual contributions and ideas matter. Hiring Process We believe the right fit goes both ways. Candidates should expect a multi-step process that may include: Short introductory video Virtual interview In-person interview Half-day team shadow How to Apply Resumes tell us about your experience, but we'd also like to know a little bit about the person behind it. As part of your application, please send us a short video— 60 seconds or less—telling us about something you're passionate about outside of work. That's it!
