Position SummaryThe IT Financial Consultant serves as a strategic bridge between technology and finance, providing expert guidance on ERP system design, implementation, and optimization across manufacturing and back-office operations. This role is critical to ensuring that financial processes from general ledger and accounts payable through accounts receivable and credit decisioning are accurately reflected in enterprise systems and aligned with the operational realities of a multi-billion dollar, publicly traded manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate combines deep financial acumen with hands-on ERP experience and the ability to translate complex system architecture into clear, actionable guidance for executive and operational stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesERP Systems & Workflow ArchitectureDesign, configure, and optimize ERP workflows across finance, manufacturing, and supply chain functionsArchitect end-to-end process flows within ERP platforms (QAD preferred; SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or equivalent accepted)Lead or support ERP implementations, upgrades, and system integration projectsIdentify system gaps and recommend solutions that align with operational and financial reporting requirementsEnsure ERP configurations support multi-entity, multi-currency, and regulatory reporting for a publicly traded companyFinancial Operations & Back-Office SupportProvide consulting support across General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) functionsSupport credit decisioning workflows, collections processes, and supplier payment operations within ERPEnsure financial controls, period-close processes, and audit requirements are properly supported by system configurationPartner with finance leadership to align system capabilities with SOC reporting standards Manufacturing Operations IntegrationCollaborate with plant operations teams to align production scheduling, cost accounting, and inventory management within ERPSupport integration between shop-floor systems and financial modules to ensure accurate cost capture and reportingUnderstand and address the unique ERP requirements of discrete and process manufacturing environmentsProject ManagementManage single and concurrent projects from initiation through delivery, including scope definition, timelines, and stakeholder communicationDevelop and maintain project plans, status reports, risk logs, and change management documentationCoordinate cross-functional teams including IT, finance, operations, and external vendorsEscalate issues proactively and maintain accountability for project milestones and outcomesCommunication & Stakeholder EngagementCommunicate technical and financial system concepts clearly to executive, management, and operational audiencesProduce high-quality written deliverables including business requirements, functional specifications, process documentation, and executive summariesPresent findings, recommendations, and project status to senior leadership with clarity and confidenceFacilitate workshops, working sessions, and training for end users and cross-functional teamsRequired QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field7+ years of experience in ERP consulting, IT finance, or a comparable hybrid roleDemonstrated experience supporting financial operations (GL, AP, AR) within a multi-billion dollar publicly traded companyProven track record managing ERP projects in a manufacturing or industrial environmentTechnical & Functional SkillsProficiency with at least one major manufacturing ERP platform (QAD preferred; SAP, Oracle, Infor, Epicor, or similar accepted)Experience architecting ERP workflows and translating business requirements into system configurationsStrong understanding of financial close processes, internal controls, and public company reporting requirementsAbility to read and interpret financial statements, cost structures, and operational dataProject & Leadership SkillsDemonstrated ability to independently manage single and multiple concurrent projects with competing prioritiesExperience with formal project management methodologies (PMP, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent)Skilled at building alignment across cross-functional and geographically distributed teamsCommunication SkillsExceptional written communication skills able to produce clear, concise, executive-level documentationStrong verbal presentation skills comfortable facilitating meetings and presenting to C-suite audiencesActive listening skills with the ability to translate operational pain points into structured system requirements
