About Hilltop Hilltop Wealth & Tax Solutions is an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm built around comprehensive financial planning. We provide coordinated wealth management, retirement planning, tax, accounting, and payroll services to individuals and business owners across the country. Our tax and accounting division allows our advisors and professionals to consider a client's full financial picture and work collaboratively across disciplines. From our six offices in the Michiana region and Fort Myers, Florida, we operate as one team to deliver world-class service and thoughtful advice to existing and prospective clients. What you will doPortfolio management and investment support
  • Oversee and coordinate the firmwide portfolio-rebalancing process, helping ensure client portfolios remain aligned with approved models, target allocations, cash needs, and advisor instructions.
  • Prepare for and attend Investment Committee meetings, including organizing materials, documenting follow-up items, and supporting implementation of committee decisions.
  • Assist with individual stock research and prepare clear, advisor-ready research reports and monitoring updates.
  • Partner with advisors to establish, review, and maintain client asset-allocation targets and identify accounts requiring attention.
  • Support portfolio actions related to client money requests, cash needs, deposits, withdrawals, and rebalances, with careful attention to timing, accuracy, taxes, and documentation.
  • Help improve investment workflows, controls, reporting, and consistency across the firm. Financial planning and advisor support
  • Learn the firm's financial-planning software and assist advisors with data gathering, plan preparation, scenario analysis, and client-review materials.
  • Review client and prospective-client statements and other financial documents for accurate entry into planning systems.
  • Support investment-related meeting preparation and completion of post-meeting tasks.
  • Gain practical exposure to comprehensive planning, investment management, and the advisor-client relationship. Client service and investment operations
  • Learn and support the core operational work of an advisory firm, including new-account and maintenance paperwork, account transfers, beneficiary and registration changes, and custodian follow-up.
  • Assist with client money movements, distributions, deposits, journals, and related requests, ensuring instructions and documentation are complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate with advisors and client-service team members to track requests through completion and communicate status promptly.
  • Maintain accurate digital records and help ensure Know Your Client, risk-tolerance, and other required documentation remains current.
  • Build fluency with the firm's custodian, CRM, planning, trading, and related technology platforms. What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, financial planning, or a related field; comparable education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • A genuine interest in investments, portfolio management, comprehensive planning, and a long-term career in wealth management.
  • Working knowledge of asset allocation, diversification, risk tolerance, and portfolio theory.
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the discipline to follow work through to completion.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple requests and deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a helpful, collaborative, client-first approach.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred qualifications
  • MBA, master's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent advanced business and investment experience.
  • Series 65 license or another credential that satisfies applicable investment-adviser representative requirements.
  • Experience in an RIA, wealth-management, investment-management, brokerage, banking, or financial-planning environment.
  • Experience with portfolio-rebalancing, custodial, CRM, or financial-planning technology; familiarity with Charles Schwab Advisor Center or Salesforce is helpful.
  • Progress toward, or interest in pursuing, the CFP® certification.
Professional development and career path We do not expect every strong candidate to arrive with every license or designation. For the right person, Hilltop will support beginning the appropriate licensing process, if needed, followed by CFP® studies. Success in this role can create a pathway into an associate-advisor and, ultimately, a client-facing advisory position based on performance, demonstrated capability, licensing, and the needs of the firm. Compensation, location, and benefits Competitive salary range based on experience: $52,000-$60,000. The position may be based in our main office in Mishawaka, Indiana, in one of our other Hilltop offices, or remotely from elsewhere in the United States. We are open to the arrangement that best fits the right person, provided the candidate can collaborate effectively with the team, maintain reliable availability, and fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
