Job Description
Hilltop Securities Inc. is currently looking for qualified students to join our Public Finance team as a Summer Intern. This individual will work closely with our Public Finance to gain hands-on experience in the profession while assisting with several key initiatives across the company. They will develop entry-level experience in the financial services industry, including development and delivery of initiatives, and effective practices.
Professional Development Objectives:
Experience on a full service trading desk this individual will learn about products traded including corporate bonds, CD's, agencies, treasuries. Our Summer 2027 Internship Program is an in-person experience lasting from May 24, 2027 to July 30, 2027, with opportunities located in downtown Dallas at our HTS Tower location and throughout the country at various branch locations. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Rising Senior pursuing finance or related field is preferred Some experience (0 - 1 year) is preferred but not required Strong interest in public finance investment banking Computer hardware, operating system (Windows or Mac), and software/application (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook etc.) skills. Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion Exceptional time management and organizational skills Desire to learn about career opportunities in the financial services industry Candidate MUST have authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship, whether in student status or not not Work directly with Traders and Public Finance bankers for hands-on experience in this line of business, including opportunity to perform data analysis and deliver presentations to Public Finance leadership and training on municipal finance. Perform financial data analysis Review client memos, assist with development of presentation materials and proposals for new and existing clients Shadow full-time employees as they interact with potential and existing clients Assist Public Finance bankers and disclosure departments Other duties as assignedBenefits
