Job Description

Position Overview Cornerstone Wealth is seeking a Portfolio Associate to support the firm's portfolio management, investment analysis, and client service functions. This is a support role combining portfolio and investment responsibilities with client service. Financial plans serve as the foundation for all portfolio construction and investment decisions at Cornerstone. While this role will not initially be responsible for creating or updating financial plans, the ideal candidate understands and values the role planning plays in shaping investment strategy. This position works closely with the Director of Portfolio Strategy, while also supporting Wealth Advisors and collaborating with Client Service Associates. Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Investment Support Assist with trading and rebalancing portfolios in alignment with firm models and client objectives Support portfolio construction and implementation for new and existing clients Review portfolios in advance of client meetings, to include allocation, risk exposure, and performance analysis Evaluate portfolios in the context of known client cash needs and financial planning objectives Assist in monitoring and maintaining the firm's model portfolios Support investment research and due diligence on mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, direct indexing, and alternative strategies Support the Director of Portfolio Strategy with ad hoc analysis, research projects, and investment committee preparation Assist with investment presentations and market commentary used in advisor and client communications Participate in internal meetings and contribute to firm-wide dialogue around markets and portfolios Utilize tools such as Morningstar Advisor Workstation, YCharts, CFRA, and Argus Research Maintain strict adherence to firm policies, compliance requirements, and industry regulations Client Service & Advisor Support Support Wealth Advisors with portfolio‑related client service requests Prepare and support client‑facing materials, including portfolio reports and investment summaries Assist with client meeting preparation, including contributing analysis and supporting agenda development Respond to client inquiries related to accounts, portfolios and investment strategy Collaborate closely with Client Service Associates to ensure timely and accurate execution of client requests and tasks Assist with gathering and organizing client information used in planning and portfolio discussions Build familiarity with firm planning tools, including MoneyGuidePro, eMoney, and RightCapital Required Qualifications Active Series 7 and Series 66 (or Series 7 with Series 63 & 65) Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 1+ years of experience in wealth management, investment research, portfolio analysis, trading, or a related field Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Clear written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in wealth management, investment research, portfolio analysis, trading, or a related field Experience with the LPL Financial Ecosystem Experience using Morningstar Advisor Workstation, YCharts, or similar analytical tools Experience using Microsoft 365 tools including Excel, Copilot & other AI tools Understanding of portfolio construction concepts and Modern Portfolio Theory Comfort working with financial planning software such as Money Guide Pro or Right Capital Key Characteristics for Success Curiosity about markets and investment strategy Comfort supporting advisors and processes while developing expertise Respect for structure, discipline, and repeatable processes Strong belief in financial planning as the foundation for sound investment decisions Interest in long-term development as a Wealth Advisor or investment professional Compensation & Benefits Cornerstone Wealth offers a competitive compensation package that includes: Competitive pay based on experience 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, and vision insurance Health Savings Account Paid time off Paid lunches Long-term disability insurance Team activities and a collaborative firm culture Why Cornerstone Wealth Cornerstone Wealth is a growing, team-oriented advisory firm.
