This is not a sales role . TThis role is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive quotations for aluminum extrusion and related metal products. This role converts customer RFQs into profitable business by balancing cost accuracy, turnaround time, and customer requirements, working closely with Sales, Engineering, suppliers, and Operations teams. The position will also support the development, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled and other technology tools supporting the RFQ-to-Purchase Order quotation lifecycle. The successful candidate will work directly with technology and AI vendors to test solutions, validate outputs, identify issues, and provide business and technical feedback.
Compensation:
$30 - $35/hour Core Responsibilities Quoting & Estimating Review, generate and manage multiple RFQs (request for quotes), reviewing drawings, specs, and revisions to customer requirements Prepare detailed quotes covering fabrication (cutting, CNC, drilling, punching), finishing (anodizing, powder coating, painting), and assembly/value-added services Meet defined turnaround times and follow quotation SOPs and approval workflows Maintain accurate records of quotes, claims, customer pricing templates, POs, and other documentation related to clients and projects Manage multiple RFQs, customers and projects simultaneously Apply effective selling techniques to support conversion from quotation to Purchase Order Order & Claims Management Monitor orders after quote conversion through delivery, tracking production status, order status, and shipment timelines Manage the claims process for product or shipment issues: research root cause with the factory/supplier, gather supporting documentation, and communicate findings and resolution to the customer Coordinate credit memos, replacement material, or other corrective actions as needed to resolve claims Customer, Supplier & Internal Coordination Proactively communicate status updates and delays to customers and internal teams Communicate with customers and their engineering teams on drawings and cost-optimization opportunities Coordinate with domestic/international suppliers on pricing, capacity, production requirements, manufacturing capabilities and lead times Partner with Sales on pricing strategy and priorities; coordinate with Logistics on freight and shipment requirements, and Accounting for handoff from quote to PO or any other billing requirements AI, Quotation Technology & New Tool Development Support the development, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled and other technology tools across the RFQ-to-Purchase Order lifecycle Work with internal teams and technology/AI vendors to evaluate and develop new tools, workflows, and automation that improve quotation accuracy, efficiency, and response time Develop and execute test cases (using RFQs, drawings, specs, and quotations) to validate system and AI outputs for accuracy and alignment with quotation SOPs Identify system errors, workflow gaps, and improvement opportunities; document and report findings and enhancement requests Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support rollout and adoption of new tools, with growing involvement in quotation technology
Qualifications Education:
Associate's degree in business administration, supply chain or related field; Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, mechanical or industrial engineering is preferred
Experience:
2-5+ years of experience in aluminum extrusion, metals supply, or industrial quoting estimation or sales Knowledge of manufacturing process, aluminum extrusion process, common alloys and fabrication and finishing processes Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, revisions, and engineering documentation Strong Microsoft Excel skills for cost modeling and quoting (formulas, lookups, scenario analysis) Strong understanding of pricing, margin calculation, cost analysis, and profitability Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and determine appropriate solutions Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations, quotations, documentation, and system data Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, RFQs, and deliverables Ability to communicate clearly with customers, suppliers, Sales, Engineering, Operations, and technology vendors Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment Experience developing, testing, or implementing AI-enabled business tools, automation, software, or digital workflows preferred Positive Attitude and demonstrates 'can do' attitude with an optimistic approach Nice to Have Experience with AI quotation, document-processing, or workflow automation platforms Experience with APIs, system integrations, or automation platforms CAD software experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Lean manufacturing or cost reduction certification Familiarity with ERP systems (Not required) Knowledge of pricing, margin calculation, and cost analysis B2B sales experience Language Proficiency English required; Bilingual in Cantonese and/or Mandarin preferred

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
