Role purpose Perfect Aire is seeking a hands-on Senior Pricing Analyst to own pricing operations, margin and customer profitability analysis, and the business-side improvement of our pricing systems. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will manage the pricing workflow from request intake and cost validation through approval, Acumatica publication, and post-sale variance review. The analyst will also help move the company from complex spreadsheet-based pricing toward a controlled, versioned pricing platform without disrupting early-stage customer quoting. This role combines disciplined execution with process leadership. The successful candidate will challenge incomplete assumptions, translate commercial requests into reliable economics, and provide management with a clear comparison of target price, customer-requested price, model price, and expected profitability. Primary responsibilitiesPricing operations and controls
- Own the pricing request queue, confirm required inputs, track status, and communicate expected turnaround times.
- Manage separate preliminary and final pricing stages. Preliminary quotes must identify estimated inputs, assumptions, confidence level, expiration date, and unresolved data; final prices require validated master data and documented approvals before release to Acumatica.
- Build and review customer and SKU pricing using product cost, tariffs and duties, inbound and outbound freight, commissions, customer program spend, rebates, returns, compliance costs, financing, warehousing, and other relevant cost-to-serve elements.
- Maintain version-controlled pricing files, approval evidence, effective dates, customer price lists, and a complete audit trail from first quote through final acceptance.
- Coordinate margin exceptions and cost overrides with Sales, Product, Supply Chain, Finance, and executive management; ensure approvals follow established thresholds.
- Publish approved prices to Acumatica and perform post-load validation before prices become effective.
- Run recurring approved-price-to-order and approved-price-to-invoice exception reviews; investigate, quantify, and escalate price leakage. Margin and profitability analytics
- Develop target-price recommendations by SKU, customer, channel, program, and volume tier; compare target price with customer-requested price and cost-plus model price.
- Analyze quoted versus invoiced price and margin, including price, volume, mix, cost, freight, tariff, and customer-program-spend drivers.
- Build annual and multi-year SKU margin trends by Master SKU ID and identify opportunities to renegotiate factory cost, change the product offering, or improve price realization.
- Evaluate customer profitability using approved forecast assumptions, actual volume and price, accrued customer program spend, and available actual deductions or settlements.
- Provide executive reporting on margin guardrail exceptions, channel consistency, salesperson and customer performance, and material pricing risks. Pricing systems and process improvement
- Serve as the business process owner for pricing technology evaluation and implementation, including requirements, vendor demonstrations, data migration, user acceptance testing, training, and adoption.
- Define effective-dated cost-driver and pricing data requirements so changes to tariffs, duties, freight, country of origin, factory cost, and SKU lineup identify every affected live quote without rewriting previously issued versions.
- Partner with Finance, IT, and system resources to integrate the selected pricing solution with Acumatica and reporting tools while preserving Acumatica as the system of record for established items and approved prices.
- Reduce manual rework and spreadsheet error risk through controlled templates, reconciliations, documentation, and approved automation.
- Maintain the pricing SOP, RACI, data dictionary, approval matrix, and recurring control calendar as the process evolves. Cross-functional governance
- Facilitate recurring pricing workflow and performance reviews with Sales, Product, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and management.
- Return incomplete final-price requests to the source owner or classify them as preliminary when business timing requires an estimate; document the remaining conditions for final approval.
- Manage mid-season change control, quantify the impact of cost or lineup changes, and recommend whether Perfect Aire should maintain, revise, or re-quote affected customer pricing.
- Train users on pricing intake, source-data ownership, approval requirements, price implementation, and exception-resolution procedures. Decision rights and boundaries
- The Senior Pricing Analyst owns workflow control, financial modeling, data validation, version control, pricing-system business requirements, and the accuracy of pricing recommendations.
- The CFO and other designated executives approve pricing strategy, channel guardrails, and material exceptions. This role recommends and administers those decisions but does not unilaterally set commercial policy.
- Sales owns customer strategy, volume assumptions, customer communication, and acceptance dates. Product and Supply Chain own timely, supportable source data for specifications, sourcing, logistics, tariffs, and costs. Customer Service transacts using approved system pricing.
- The analyst may prevent a price from being released as final when required inputs, approvals, or validation evidence are missing. Measures of success
- Pricing request turnaround time and aging by workflow stage
- First-pass completeness and validation-gate pass rate
- Percentage of live quotes supported by current cost data
- Approved-to-invoiced price variance and price override rate
- Quoted-to-realized margin variance by channel, customer, SKU, and salesperson
- Manual rework hours, pricing errors, and cycle-time reduction
- Pricing platform selection and implementation milestones, user adoption, and control effectiveness Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, supply chain, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- At least five years of progressive experience in pricing, commercial finance, financial analysis, revenue management, or a related discipline, including ownership of a recurring pricing or quote-to-price process.
- Demonstrated ability to build and audit profitability models that incorporate product cost, freight, tariffs or duties, rebates, commissions, accruals, and other cost-to-serve elements.
- Advanced Excel capability, including structured models, lookup logic, PivotTables, Power Query, reconciliation controls, and clear model documentation.
- Experience working in an ERP environment and translating business approvals into controlled system pricing; Acumatica experience is preferred.
- Strong judgment and communication skills, including the ability to challenge unsupported assumptions and explain margin tradeoffs to Sales and senior management.
- Ability to manage detailed recurring work while also leading process and systems improvement projects. Preferred experience
- Consumer products, distribution, manufacturing, retail, or another business with SKU-level pricing and material freight or trade-cost exposure.
- Pricing, CPQ, revenue-management, or profitability software selection and implementation, including requirements definition and user acceptance testing.
- Power BI, DataSelf, SQL, or comparable analytics and data-modeling tools.
- Pricing new or replacement products before final item master data is available and governing the transition from estimated to final economics.
- Customer program spend, rebate accruals, deductions, and customer-level profitability analysis. First year priorities
- Stabilize the current quote workflow, clarify source-data ownership, implement preliminary-versus-final pricing controls, and establish baseline process metrics.
- Launch recurring price-leakage and quoted-to-realized margin reporting with clear owners and resolution deadlines.
- Build practical customer profitability and multi-year SKU margin views using the best available forecast, accrual, sales, and cost data.
- Convert the pricing-tool requirements into a supported vendor decision and lead the business workstream for configuration, testing, data migration, and adoption.
