Apply Now Pricing Analyst Job Description The Pricing Analyst designs and implements data-driven pricing strategies that stabilize margins, manage risk, and maintain market competitiveness within a food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods environment. This role ensures accurate price positioning and alignment of contracts and quotations by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The Pricing Analyst balances sales commitments with ingredient coverage, applies best-in-class pricing protocols, optimizes system usage, and continuously improves the efficiency and effectiveness of pricing methodologies. Responsibilities Design and implement pricing strategies that stabilize margins, manage risk, and support market competitiveness. Ensure accurate price positioning and alignment between contracts, quotations, and internal pricing policies. Collaborate with relevant departments, including sales, finance, and procurement, to balance sales commitments with ingredient and commodity coverage. Manage pricing files in SAP ERP, including product information maintenance, pricing updates, and vendor setup. Schedule pricing changes and maintain accurate gross margins across product lines. Conduct margin analysis and forecasting using inventory and pricing data to ensure ongoing profitability. Coordinate inventory and procurement activities by handling purchase orders, communicating with vendors, and managing freight cost information. Generate, analyze, and interpret inventory and pricing reports to support strategic and operational decision-making. Perform advanced data analysis in Excel, including building and maintaining complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial models for pricing and margin calculations. Support financial planning and analysis activities related to pricing, budgeting, and forecasting. Review and analyze large data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in pricing and margin performance. Develop clear, insightful presentations that communicate pricing analysis, margin performance, and recommendations to various audience levels within the organization. Articulate analytical insights effectively and recommend actionable steps to improve profitability and pricing effectiveness. Manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritizing tasks in a demanding and evolving environment. Contribute to the continuous improvement of pricing protocols, methodologies, and system utilization. Leverage industry knowledge of food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods, including commodity pricing and product assortment, to inform pricing decisions. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business. 3-5 years of experience in pricing or risk management. SAP ERP proficiency, including managing product information, pricing files, and vendor setup. Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. Demonstrated experience reviewing and analyzing complex data sets for pricing and margin calculations. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations. Proven experience in margin analysis and forecasting to ensure profitability. Experience in pricing file management, including scheduling pricing changes and maintaining accurate gross margins. Experience in inventory and procurement coordination, including handling purchase orders and vendor communication. Ability to generate, interpret, and present inventory and pricing reports for decision-making. Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to meet demanding, evolving, and competing deadlines. Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization. Experience in finance, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning and analysis related to pricing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Degree in a business-related field is preferred. Industry knowledge of food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods, including commodity pricing and product assortment, is a plus. Experience working with pricing analysis and request for proposals (RFPs). Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex pricing concepts clearly. Attention to detail and accuracy in managing pricing data, margins, and inventory information. Comfort working with financial modeling tools and data management practices. Ability to adapt to changing business priorities and market conditions while maintaining pricing discipline. Work Environment This position follows a hybrid work schedule with standard business hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role requires working on-site at a headquarters location from Monday through Wednesday, with remote work on Thursday and Friday. The environment is office-based, using technologies such as SAP ERP and Microsoft Excel for daily pricing, margin analysis, and reporting activities. The culture emphasizes collaboration across departments, data-driven decision-making, and strong project management to meet evolving business needs over a 12-month contract-to-hire engagement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pennsauken, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
