Qualifications Education:
- Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience as a journeyman level gasoline and diesel powered automotive mechanic.
License Requirement:
Must possess a valid Class B, California Drivers License, with a passenger endorsement, or obtain one within six months of employment. Attach any documents that you feel will help demonstrate that you meet the minimum qualifications listed above (i.e. resume, transcript, diploma). Documents you wish to attach should be uploaded via EDJOIN by the filing deadline in order to be considered in the hiring process (pertains to current employees also). A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301.- The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
A preplacement medical assessment and substance abuse test, at office expense, is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must furnish hand tools common to the automotive service, maintenance and repair trade. Must maintain proof of privately owned automobile insurance and possess a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act. This position requires the mechanic to provide their own tools. This position has a probationary period of six months or 130 days in paid service, whichever is longer.
