About the Role Are you detail-obsessed, reliable, and great on the road? We're looking for a Preventative Safety & Inspections Specialist to be our eyes on every property in the portfolio. This tech-led, field-based role is all about keeping properties safe, compliant, and well-documented, through safety checks, move-in/move-out inspections, high-resolution home imaging, and tenant inspection follow-through. This role also lends a hand with basic repairs and general maintenance when the schedule allows, supporting our maintenance techs and helping keep properties in top shape between inspections. This role requires regularly entering occupied tenant homes to conduct inspections, you'll need a sharp eye for spotting issues that haven't been reported by the tenant, along with an accurate read on the overall condition of the home. You'll be trusted to walk through someone's lived-in space and catch what others might miss. If you're punctual, thorough, and take pride in never letting an issue slip through the cracks, and you're handy enough to fix what you find, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do Inspections:

Safety Checks & Move In Move Out Inspections Complete tech-led safety checks and move-in/move-out inspections accurately, including in occupied tenant homes Identify and document unreported issues and overall home condition, with clear, complete photos Verify all checklist items and escalate safety hazards or habitability issues to the Portfolio Manager immediately Complete high-resolution 3D renderings of homes during move-in inspections to support marketing and leasing Follow up with tenants on required inspections to ensure a high completion ratio, scheduling and coordinating access with proper notice General Maintenance & Handyman Support Perform hands-on repairs and general maintenance during downtime between inspections, including minor plumbing, electrical, drywall, hardware, and fixture repairs Handle basic troubleshooting and fixes for common household issues (leaky faucets, loose hardware, door and window adjustments, minor drywall patching, touch-up work, and similar tasks) Support maintenance technicians on make-ready and turn-related tasks as needed What You'll Need Handyman or general repair experience, comfortable with basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, and fixture repairs Strong attention to detail and a commitment to thorough, accurate documentation Own reliable transportation and the ability to travel to properties daily Comfort with technology and mobile/field-based tools Strong communication skills, you'll coordinate with tenants, Portfolio Managers, and the team daily Proficiency with (or ability to quickly learn): Appfolio Slack Gmail Calendar Benefits Full health insurance coverage 401(k) with company match Paid time off Why Join Us This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for someone who takes ownership of their work and genuinely cares about keeping properties safe and well-maintained.
