Job Summary The Property Maintenance position is part of a team that manages and maintains Second Heart Homes properties. We currently have 14 homes across Sarasota and Manatee counties, with more homes opening in the next year. This position offers an opportunity to impact the lives of mentally ill homeless individuals in our community by providing maintenance to the homes. We are seeking an individual who will champion those we serve, connect with our mission, and be an asset to the organization. This position reports to the Property Manager and requires travel between the homes. There is a gas stipend included with the position, separate from salary Duties An ideal candidate must be able to take responsibility for the following:
Property Maintenance and Improvement :
Ensuring all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed within set timeframes and meet quality standards.
Major Repairs Oversight :
Work with Property Manager to effectively plan, schedule, and oversee major repairs and renovations, ensuring budget adherence and timely completion Carry out inspections of all Second Heart Homes to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues. This includes repairs, painting, replacing, building, and/or scheduling professional trades. Respond to all issued maintenance requests within the required timeframe. Rectify maintenance problems that may arise during the workday. Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Property Manager. Must have your own insured vehicle and basic tools. Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to track work orders, schedule preventative maintenance, and document repairs Lead safety initiatives by adhering to all health and safety regulations during maintenance activities Provide excellent customer service by addressing tenant requests promptly and professionally Skills Must have your own insured vehicle and basic tools. Valid driver's license Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Adequate "handyman" experience is a must! Previous experience in most areas of basic maintenance and repairs. This includes HVAC, electrical, and Plumbing. Good history of job dependability and performance. Experience in the use of maintenance equipment and tools. The ability to work independently and to take directions. The organization's policies and procedures on confidentiality and disclosure of service recipient information, and the penalties for violations of these policies and procedures The legal rights of service recipients Sensitivity to service populations and socio-economic issues.

$45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
