Overview Join our team as a Deputy Assessor and become a vital part of our property valuation and tax assessment division. In this energetic role, you will support the accurate appraisal of residential and commercial properties, ensuring fair property tax assessments that benefit our community. Your expertise will help streamline data collection, property valuation, and market analysis processes, contributing to transparent and equitable property assessments. Responsibilities Assist in conducting residential and commercial property appraisals using established valuation methods and legal descriptions Support data collection efforts through quantitative research, field inspections, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to ensure accurate property records Analyze real estate market trends and property values to inform assessment decisions and ensure compliance with fair housing regulations Prepare detailed reports on property valuations, including financial analysis and property tax assessments, for review by senior assessors Review appraisal reports for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to appraisal standards; participate in appraisal review processes Communicate effectively with clients, property owners, and stakeholders regarding assessment procedures and findings Contribute to the development of financial reports, spreadsheets, and data analysis documentation using Microsoft Office tools and financial software Skills Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial concepts, and property valuation techniques Experience with construction projects or construction experience is a plus for understanding building valuations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and report preparation Familiarity with real estate market analysis, property tax assessment procedures, and legal descriptions of properties Ability to perform quantitative research, data collection, and financial analysis with attention to detail Knowledge of GIS technology for mapping and spatial data analysis related to property assessment Excellent communication skills for client interactions and report writing; ability to explain complex valuation concepts clearly Understanding of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs is advantageous for specific assessment projects Experience with financial software applications used in appraisal or tax assessment environments is preferred Embark on a rewarding career where your analytical skills meet impactful community service.
