Job Description

First Western is seeking a Deposit Risk Specialist at our Rogers Main Location. This position has a requirement of discretion and must have the confidence to make critical decisions while researching, investigating, monitoring, identifying, and mitigating fraud while keeping any information very detailed oriented. You must be able to make deductive decisions that could lead to learning about and preventing potential risks or scams, this may include observing customer history, deposit patterns and relationships with the bank. You must be knowledgeable and proficient in technology. You must be willing to look for more efficient methods of performing your day-to-day duties while thoroughly reviewing all aspects of risk, suspicious activity, and identifying patterns in customer behavior. Ability to make correct judgement calls with independent decision-making skills, while being able to understand the risk with these decisions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Review Smart Pay to manage, make decision to mobile deposit. Examine items exceeding their parameter/risk settings, endorsement, and/or suspicious activity. Obtain approval and additional review on any potential risk or suspicious items. Review Bill Pay reports to monitor and identify potential risk and suspicious items: OFAC hits, auto approved accounts, Scheduled Transactions and Transfers, new enrollments. Review Banno for potentially compromised report, unverified two factor authentication, external transfers, micro deposit status and suspicious activity reports. Actively monitor and decide mobile deposit enrollments. Assist in Deposit maintenance tasks Approve debit card wallet requests Review potential risk hits through
Financial Crime Defender Qualifications and Skills:
Strong and proficient in attention to detail, written and verbal communication, teamwork, troubleshooting, analytical, and identifying risk assessment skills. Proficiency in all bank software programs as well as Word, Excel, Email.
