Position Summary The Construction Risk Specialist (CRS) is a mid-level operations role responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of construction loan advances and inspection services on behalf of CFSI's lender clients. The CRS serves as the primary point of contact across the draw process, from initial budget analysis through final advance recommendation, while also managing vendor-sourced inspection quality, project feasibility assessments, and contractor screenings. This role requires sound construction knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with lenders, borrowers, contractors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Construction Loan Advance Processing Receive and process incoming construction loan advance requests from lender clients. Balance draw budgets in accordance with

contractor payment applications. Review all supporting documentation associated with each advance request, including invoices, lien releases, change orders, and sworn statements. Input advance data and documentation into CFSI's software platforms and client-facing systems. Order and coordinate third-party site visit inspections for each advance as required. Prepare and forward construction loan advance recommendations to lender clients within SLA-defined timeframes. Communicate draw status proactively to lender clients, borrowers, and contractors throughout the process. Inspection Management Monitor active inspection orders to ensure turnaround times meet or exceed company policy and client SLAs. Update internal software systems and tracking spreadsheets with current communication, status, and inspection outcomes. Deliver quality control inspections in compliance with CFSI's QC standards and client guidelines. Provide outstanding service to lender clients and outside vendors, practicing tact, diplomacy, and clear professional communication. Coordinate required actions across departments to meet established inspection and reporting goals. Assist the Inspections Manager in recruiting and vetting qualified field inspectors. Support onboarding and training of new inspectors in accordance with CFSI's policies and procedures. Project Feasibility & Risk Assessment Estimate costs of construction and renovation projects based on supporting documentation including plans, specifications, and contractor bids. Identify and collect market data to support department-wide costing observations, including material cost trends, regional inflation, and labor rate shifts. Conduct contractor screenings to evaluate qualifications, licensing, insurance, and project history. Prepare completed project analyses and submit to supervisor for final review; incorporate feedback prior to client delivery. Deliver feasibility reports and risk assessments to lender clients in a timely and professional manner. Respond to lender disputes or questions regarding project cost estimates with supporting analysis. Identify and escalate high-risk projects to management and lender clients with appropriate documentation and recommendations. Competencies & Interpersonal Skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Self-directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with limited supervision. Professional, courteous communication style with both internal staff and external stakeholders. Effective oral and written communication skills; able to work cooperatively across departments. High production capacity and commitment to quality and responsiveness. Comfortable interacting with all levels of management and external client contacts. Ability to develop and deliver training materials to staff as needed. Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated track record in a customer service or client-facing operational role. Experience with construction cost estimating tools or methods preferred. Practical knowledge of residential and/or commercial ground-up construction and renovation practices. Experience with contractor screening, lien release review, and change order management a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; comfort with web-based platforms and internal systems.
