The Infrastructure & Commercial Products Group (ICPG) is seeking a CAPEX Project & Risk Engineer based in Denver, Colorado to lead capital improvement projects, facility expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and operational resilience initiatives. This highly visible role partners with manufacturing operations and business leadership to deliver strategic investments that support growth, improve reliability, enhance safety, and strengthen overall business performance. This position combines capital project management, risk mitigation, and business continuity planning, offering the opportunity to lead projects from concept through execution while helping ensure operations remain resilient, efficient, and prepared for future challenges. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing technical projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to long-term capital investment strategies.
In This Role, You Will:
Lead Capital Projects Manage capital projects from concept through startup, typically up to $2 million in value. Plan, organize, and execute facility expansions, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, and process improvement projects. Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. Present project updates, risks, recommendations, and key decisions to site and business leadership teams. Drive Risk Management & Operational Resilience Proactively identify and assess project, operational, and business risks during planning and execution. Develop mitigation strategies for safety, contractor, supplier, schedule, cost, permitting, and operational continuity risks. Monitor project risks throughout execution and implement corrective actions when necessary. Support business continuity planning by evaluating disruption scenarios, recovery priorities, contingency plans, and escalation pathways. Lead efforts to reduce operational risk and strengthen organizational resilience through practical engineering solutions. Support Strategic Growth & Capital Planning Partner with leadership to support business growth initiatives and long-range capital investment strategies. Assist in developing capital roadmaps and investment plans aligned with organizational objectives. Evaluate opportunities to improve safety, reliability, productivity, efficiency, and overall business performance. Support financial justification, business case development, and capital expenditure planning activities. Collaborate Across Functions Work closely with Engineering, Operations, EHS, WCM, Purchasing, Supply Chain, R D, Product Management, Legal, and site leadership teams. Coordinate contractors, suppliers, engineering firms, and consultants throughout project execution. Support contract reviews, vendor negotiations, procurement activities, and project purchasing requirements. Ensure compliance with Saint-Gobain standards, capital expenditure processes, engineering practices, EHS requirements, and risk prevention protocols. Is this job for you ? Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 2 years of project management experience supporting medium to large capital projects. Experience leading facility, infrastructure, manufacturing, equipment, or process improvement projects. Strong project management capabilities including planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, tracking, and stakeholder management. Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to influence stakeholders and effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing capital investments and CAPEX projects in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Knowledge of risk management, operational resilience, business continuity planning, or loss prevention programs. Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers, and engineering service providers. Familiarity with industrial safety standards, EHS requirements, and manufacturing operations. Experience developing business cases, investment justifications, and long-term capital plans. PMP certification or additional project management training is a plus. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $79,500 to $123,400 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,400 to $135,700. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
