We are looking for a dedicated professional with 5+ years of experience who puts Gravity's mission first. Your experience will guide operations to enhance risk practices, fully supporting departmental leadership while collaboratively sharing ideas for continuous improvement. Core Responsibilities Partner cross-functionally to drive team-wide strategies forward, offering thoughtful, evidence-based recommendations to refine our operations Demonstrate strong professionalism by fostering team alignment and maintaining a steadfast focus on our broader organizational objectives Take extreme ownership of risk decisions and analysis, demonstrating the accountability to own and learn from mistake Work with Risk, Underwriting and Compliance teams to implement and execute strategies that reduce or prevent fraudulent activities and credit and fraud losses while understanding the impacts of the decisions on customers, employees, and the company in the short and long term Perform deep credit and fraud analysis on merchant processing activity, ACH reject activity, financials, and/or profiles to assess and mitigate risk Identify opportunities to enhance risk management operations on a day-to-day basis Perform risk reviews based on daily activity or periodic cadences Review risk losses on a monthly basis across all channels with the goal of adjusting the approach based on findings Coach and mentor teams at Gravity, and external clients relating to risk operations and best practices Manage parameters across the portfolio to ensure a smooth merchant experience while limiting Gravity's financial risk exposure Develop an understanding of our portfolio and the unique client and industry patterns, adjusting policies and reviews accordingly Interact with merchants, Sales teams, Customer Facing Teams, and Underwriting teams to solve risk-related issues collaboratively and with a sense of urgency Identify trends and conduct root-cause analysis to isolate key performance drivers. Creatively problem-solve complex and difficult situations with merchants and partners, corresponding over the phone or in writing to find mutually desired solutions Utilize data manipulation and quantitative analysis to manage credit risk exposure across a large portfolio Preferred Skills Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, specifically tailored for merchant and vendor-facing interactions. 5+ years of payment Risk experience Strong decision making skills Financial and business acumen Ability to manage ambiguity Situational adaptability Experience with Risk at an ISO/PayFac/Sponsor Bank and/or working with Fiserv Deep knowledge of payment networks regulations Knowledge of regulatory agencies (FTC, FinCen, etc), federal and state laws governing the payment industry Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members Demonstrated success in finding creative solutions Ability to analyze risk, make a recommendation, develop, and execute on plans
