  • Position Summary:
  • This job is responsible for developing or managing data sets, supporting reporting and analysis, and assisting with modeling activities to help manage risk and minimize losses.

Key responsibilities include analyzing portfolio trends, developing data sets or queries to extract data, and supporting the curation of data for internal and external reporting needs. Job expectations include supporting new information and insights, often through statistical analysis. This role is responsible for supporting risk strategies, reporting, validation, and analytical initiatives across lending and operational risk processes. The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights to monitor portfolio performance, validate business rules, support risk governance requirements, and deliver impactful reporting to management. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in SQL, PowerCurve (or similar decision management platforms), and Tableau, along with demonstrated experience in reporting development, data validation, and quality assurance.

  • Responsibilities:
  • + Supports reporting to allow risk and business partners to effectively identify and manage risk + Analyzes information to support data design, portfolio trends, loss trends, and portfolio dynamics to support alignment with business strategies + Assists product strategic initiatives affecting multiple risk functions and lines of business to ensure company goals are met + Provides analytical support and utilizes analytical techniques to aggregate data + Supports with responding to requests for information from both internal and external parties + Provides assistance to remediate data quality issues by providing analytical support and assistance to cross-functional efforts + Helps monitor the outputs of controls and supports the investigation of alerts from control checks + Develop, maintain, and enhance risk reporting and dashboards using Tableau and other visualization tools.

+ Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, analyze, and validate large data sets.

+ Support the implementation, testing, and maintenance of decision strategies within PowerCurve or similar rule-based decision engines.

+ Perform data quality reviews and validation testing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of risk reporting.

+ Analyze portfolio performance and identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risk patterns.

+ Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production validation activities for risk strategy and reporting changes.

+ Partner with Risk, Technology, Data Management, and Operations teams to ensure successful delivery of risk initiatives.

+ Investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.

+ Produce recurring management reports and executive summaries highlighting key risk metrics and performance indicators.

+ Document business requirements, validation results, process flows, and reporting methodologies.

+ Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and governance reviews through accurate documentation and analysis.

+ Deliver accurate and timely risk reporting.

+ Maintain strong data quality and validation controls.

+ Identify meaningful insights from portfolio and operational data.

+ Support efficient deployment and validation of risk strategies.

+ Effectively communicate risk trends and recommendations to business partners and leadership

  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Risk Analytics, Risk Reporting, Decision Science, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, or a related analytical function.
  • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to query and manipulate large relational databases.
  • Experience with PowerCurve, Experian Decision Analytics, or comparable decision strategy platforms.
  • Proficiency in Tableau for dashboard development and analytical reporting.
  • Strong experience in report validation, data reconciliation, data quality testing, and controls.
  • Experience performing UAT, parallel testing, or production validation activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Consumer Lending, Mortgage, Credit Card, or Enterprise Risk functions.
  • Knowledge of decision strategies, and automated underwriting systems.
  • Familiarity with Python, SAS, R, or advanced analytics tools.
  • Experience working in Agile project environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory expectations related to model governance, data governance, and risk management.
