You will identify and reduce operational risks, manage insurance coverage and claims, support safety compliance, and conduct property inspections to ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards. This role blends strategic program leadership with hands-on field engagement and cross-functional collaboration. What You'll Do Own portfolio-wide programs across risk management, insurance, safety, and claims, implementing standardized policies, SOPs, and controls.
Lead insurance program management:
renewals and placements, coverage and endorsement analysis, certificates of insurance (COIs), broker/carrier/TPA coordination, and contract/indemnity review. Manage end-to-end claims (property and liability; may include workers' comp/auto as applicable): FNOL, coverage verification, reserves, subrogation, litigation coordination, and closure strategy to improve cycle time and outcomes. Identify, assess, and prioritize operational risks using a structured risk register; design and launch mitigation plans with clear owners, timelines, and success measures.
Lead safety compliance programs:
training design and delivery, incident investigation and root-cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and audit/readiness management. Conduct on-site property inspections and joint walkthroughs with property teams; translate findings into actionable remediation plans and verify closure. Ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, EPA, IBC/property maintenance codes, local housing/property regulations, and internal policies; maintain audit-ready documentation. Integrate processes and data across
RMIS/EHS
platforms, CMMS, and BI tools; build dashboards and establish governance cadence for cross-functional alignment. Optimize total cost of risk through retention vs. transfer analysis, loss forecasting, and program design recommendations. Facilitate quarterly portfolio reviews; provide clear executive updates, options, and trade-offs to inform decisions. What You'll Bring 7+ years of progressive experience in risk management, insurance, claims, and/or safety within multifamily real estate, property management, hospitality, construction, or related industries. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Safety, Business, or related field; advanced credentials (e.g., ARM, CPCU, AIC, ASP/CSP) preferred. Expertise in insurance program management (coverage analysis, endorsements, limits/deductibles, COIs) and broker/carrier/TPA relationship management. Demonstrated claims leadership across FNOL, investigation, reserves, subrogation, litigation coordination, and closure strategy. Strong working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, IBC/property maintenance codes, and local housing/property standards. Hands-on experience conducting property and safety inspections and converting findings into effective CAPAs. Fluency with

Program and change management skills with the ability to standardize practices across a distributed portfolio and influence without direct authority. Clear, timely communicator who can translate complex issues for executives, site teams, and external partners. Work Environment, Travel, and Physical Requirements Mixed office and field role. Frequent on-site property visits, including walking grounds, climbing stairs/ladders, accessing roof and mechanical areas, and using required PPE, with or without reasonable accommodation.
