Duties Help The Safety Risk Management Advisor is a recognized expert in the Federal Aviion Administrion (FAA), providing leadership for highly complex and challenging safety initiives and activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive. s in advancing the Air Traffic Organizion (ATO) and Safety (AJI) capability to identify, assess, and mitige complex safety risks affecting both internal and external Nional Airspace System (NAS) operions. Serves as the senior advisor to management and executive leadership on aviion operional safety oversight, Safety Management System (SMS), Safety Risk Management (SRM), and Safety Assurance (SA) activities. Provides expert guidance on FAA safety policy, operional risk management methodologies, and Safety Assurance processes to improve enterprise safety performance, ensure compliance with FAA safety requirements, and reduce operional risk. Evalues the effectiveness of Safety Management System (SMS) implemention, Safety Assurance activities, and operional risk controls by analyzing operional events, hazard reports, investigions, corrective actions, and enterprise safety performance da to determine program effectiveness. Conducts comprehensive research and analysis to develop, refine, and improve AJI safety methodologies, analytical tools, and Safety Management System processes th support FAA stregic objectives and industry best practices. Evalues implemention of SMS principles and Safety Assurance activities to identify systemic weaknesses, assess the effectiveness of risk controls, and recommend improvements th enhance operional safety. Analyzes operional events, occurrence reports, runway safety da, incident and accident informion, hazard reports, investigive findings, and enterprise safety performance da to identify systemic hazards, evalue trends, assess operional risk, and formule stregies th inform management decision-making. Evalues the effectiveness of Safety Management System (SMS) implemention, Safety Assurance activities, operional safety oversight, and Safety Risk Management (SRM) processes by assessing enterprise safety performance measures, risk mitigion stregies, corrective actions, and operional outcomes. Identifies systemic deficiencies, evalues the effectiveness of risk controls, and recommends improvements th strengthen enterprise safety performance and support continuous improvement across the Air Traffic Organizion. Plans, coordines, and implements safety initiives and special projects involving multiple stakeholders. Facilites collaborion among organizional elements to ensure effective communicion, risk management, and execution of safety-reled priorities. Qualificions To qualify for this position, you must demonstre in your applicion th you possess least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J FG/GS-14level. This experience is typically reled to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupion in the organizion.
