Position Overview The Trader executes investment transactions and portfolio management activities within an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) only practice, working within established parameters and investment strategies. Working exclusively within the IAR framework, this role focuses on the accurate and timely execution of predetermined investment strategies, portfolio rebalancing, and routine client account activities. The Trader ensures seamless execution of established procedures while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and escalating complex situations as appropriate. Key Responsibilities
  • Input trades according to established investment strategies and asset allocation models
  • Execute portfolio rebalancing to maintain established target allocations and address model drifts within established parameters
  • Process client distribution requests following established procedures and thresholds
  • Coordinate with portfolio management platforms for model execution and reconciliation
  • Execute trading activities across custodial platforms based on predetermined investment guidelines, while maintaining compliance
  • Process client money transfers, deposits, and withdrawals after reviewing platform data
  • Monitor portfolio allocations and identify deviations from established target models
  • Collaborate with senior team members on larger transactions requiring additional oversight
  • Maintain accurate records of all trading activities and transactions
  • Support billing processes by executing transactions based on platform reconciliation
  • Escalate complex situations or significant account changes to senior team members
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements and firm policies
  • Support administrative tasks related to account maintenance and client service requests
  • Process routine client account changes and administrative requests
Skills, Qualification & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in trading, portfolio management, or investment operations
  • Knowledge of asset allocation principles and portfolio construction
  • Experience with custodial platforms (Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in trade execution
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work within established procedures
  • Professional communication skills and ability to handle confidential information
