Location:
CA - Westlake Village What you'll do: The AVP, Trader role within Capital Markets is an exciting opportunity to join AmeriHome's high-performing mortgage secondary marketing trading desk. This fast-paced environment offers direct exposure to seasoned capital markets professionals and the opportunity to learn best practices across hedging, MBS sales, pooling, and whole loan trading for AmeriHome's agency pipeline. The ideal candidate will bring mortgage capital markets experience, strong analytical skills, or an advanced financial degree such as a master's in finance or an MBA. This position provides hands-on experience with sophisticated loan and MBS execution strategies at one of the nation's leading bank-owned mortgage originators.
Responsibilities:
Provide analytical and operational support for core trading desk activities, including: Assisting with agency mortgage pipeline hedging activities in a dynamic market environment. Supporting specified pool auction processes and helping evaluate execution opportunities. Assisting with whole loan trade execution and related desk workflows. Monitor specified pool MBS markets, trade activity, and relative value opportunities. Assist with pooling activities and agency delivery execution. Partner with operations teams to resolve pooling, delivery, or trading issues quickly and accurately. Confirm trades and maintain accurate trade blotter records What you'll need: 3+ years of related experience in Residential Mortgage Lending, Capital Markets or similar field, or 1+ years of related experience with an advanced degree, such as MBA or Master's in Finance, Master or similar field. Bachelor's degree in related field required. Intermediate knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending including; sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services. Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices. Advanced Excel. Entry level to intermediate SQL. Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
