Quantitative Trader (Prop trader)
Location:
Miami Summary:
We are partnering with a Miami-based founder who is building a unique proprietary trading business focused on the live events market. The team identifies and trades opportunities across ticket marketplaces using proprietary research, quantitative analysis, and leveraging alternative datasets. As one of the early members of the team, you will have direct exposure to idea generation, position management, and capital allocation, with a meaningful impact on trading performance from day one.
Responsibilities:
  • Research and build semi-automated trading algorithms across concerts, sports, and other live event markets.
  • Develop and refine systematic research processes to improve trade selection, execution, and portfolio performance.
  • Monitor and actively manage inventory positions with holding periods ranging from minutes and hours to multiple days or longer.
  • Analyze supply, demand, liquidity, pricing dynamics, and market timing to optimize returns.
  • Utilize a wide range of datasets including ticket market data, artist engagement metrics, streaming trends, Spotify listeners, TikTok activity, social media engagement, and historical event performance.
  • Partner with technology and data teams to improve research tools, dashboards, trading infrastructure, and data pipelines.
  • Help shape and scale the firm's next-generation trading and investment platform for live event markets.
Qualifications:
  • Experience managing risk and making investment decisions.
  • 1-5 years of experience in proprietary trading, quantitative trading, or market making.
  • Bachelors degree in S.T.E.M related majors.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities with attractive risk/reward profiles and act decisively under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive investment decisions.
  • Comfortable operating in less liquid markets where timing and execution are critical.
  • Experience working with large datasets, research tools, dashboards, or quantitative workflows.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to operate in a small, high-impact team environment.
