If you are looking for a great company with work/life balance, please read on: The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of clients' tax returns. Advanced technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas and conducts research to resolve complex tax issues and maintains compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
Essential Functions:
Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, small businesses, non-profits, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estates. Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns. Prepare tax projections, analyses, and supporting schedules for internal leadership Assumes responsibility for preparing complex tax returns and delegates to the various tax preparers as necessary. Demonstrates thorough knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical and research skills necessary for advising clients. Performs all task related to client service within budgeted time. Participates actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts to assist the A&A department with larger clients. Acts as a resource for tax preparers/specialists and A&A staff on specific tax issues and/or questions. Assumes client service responsibility for clients the tax manager works directly with or clients where the responsibility is delegated from the partner. Communicates to the appropriate firm personnel important tax and tax developments affecting the firms' clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 3+ years experience working at at CPA firm. Exposure to working with credit unions is a plus. At least five to seven years experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research. Understanding and experience with form 990 preferred. Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Proficiency in tax preparation software preferably ProSystems CCH and Microsoft Excel. CPA strongly preferred or in the process of obtaining.
