Job Description Job Description Position Summary The Tax Senior will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns and supporting tax planning engagements for a diverse client base, including corporations, partnerships, S-corporations, and individuals. This role requires strong technical tax knowledge, the ability to manage multiple engagements, and the ability to review and mentor staff-level associates. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S-corporations, and individuals Support tax planning and consulting engagements across a variety of client industries Research and document technical tax issues, preparing memoranda and supporting documentation Assist with tax provision preparation and review (ASC 740), as applicable Coordinate with clients to gather information necessary for tax return preparation and respond to client inquiries Review the work of Tax Staff, providing coaching, technical guidance, and feedback Identify tax planning opportunities and technical issues, communicating findings to managers and clients Assist with responses to IRS and state tax notices and audits Monitor changes in tax law and assess potential impact on client engagements Manage time and priorities across multiple client engagements to meet deadlines Support business development efforts by identifying additional service opportunities for existing clients Assist in training and onboarding of new Tax Staff Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; Master's in Taxation a plus CPA or actively pursuing CPA required 2-4+ years of progressive tax experience within public accounting Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, and individuals Strong research, writing, and analytical skills Proficiency with tax research software (BNA, CCH, Checkpoint) and tax preparation software (GoSystem, CCH Axcess, or similar) Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Attributes Big 4 or national/regional public accounting firm background Interest in developing a specialization within a specific industry or service line (real estate, financial services, high net worth individuals, international tax) Strong client relationship skills and interest in growing into a Manager role
