Job Description

This is a seat for a CPA who loves the strategy and has had enough of busy season. It is a planning role, not a prep shop: no April of four hundred returns, no six-minute billing increments. You will sit alongside our financial advisors and put tax strategy at the center of real families' financial plans — then stay around long enough to watch the savings land, client by client, year after year. About Savannah Wealth Group We are a growing, multi-office wealth management practice serving coastal Georgia from Savannah and Statesboro, with expansion underway into Florida. Our clients are people approaching or enjoying retirement, families navigating inherited money, and business owners planning what's next. Our culture is education first and plain English always — if a strategy can't be explained simply, we don't consider it understood. Securities and advisory services are offered through Commonwealth Financial Network®. What you'll do Design tax-aware strategies: Roth conversion analysis and multi-year bracket management, withdrawal sequencing, RMD and QCD planning, capital-gains management, and employer-stock (NUA) analysis — built with our advisors into each client's plan.
Serve our business-owner clients:
entity and compensation questions, retirement-plan design and the tax credits that come with it, and the tax side of exit planning.
Review client tax returns:
we don't prepare returns — we read them for what they mean, and find the planning opportunities inside them.
Coordinate with outside professionals:
work as a partner to our clients' CPAs and attorneys, never a replacement — clean handoffs, shared credit, coordinated outcomes.
Be client-facing:
join client meetings as the tax voice in the room, and explain strategy so a client could repeat it at their dinner table.
Feed the education engine:
workshops, guides, and the tax content that powers our marketing — your expertise, our plain-English house style.
Build the system:
help build the internal tax-planning playbooks a multi-office firm runs on as we grow. What we're looking for Active CPA license (Georgia, or eligibility for reciprocity). Roughly 3-5+ years of tax experience — public accounting, an RIA or family office, or similar. Working knowledge of the investment industry: brokerage statements and cost basis, retirement accounts and rollovers, K-1s, and equity compensation. A plain-English communicator who is comfortable in front of clients. Nice to have, not required: PFS or CFP® (or the ambition to earn one); retirement-plan design experience; willingness to complete securities registration through our broker-dealer if the role grows in that direction. Compensation, benefits & location Salary range-negotiable depending on experience, plus performance bonus. A calendar that peaks in planning season, not filing season — your weekends in March belong to you. Home base is either Savannah (7393 Hodgson Memorial Dr, Suite 201) or Statesboro (502 Gentilly Road), with occasional travel between offices & virtual meetings
Pay:
From $65,000.00 per year
