Job DescriptionContribute to the achievement of corporate and team objectives by utilizing accounting, technology, and research skills to efficiently calculate, process, and analyze tax provisions and tax returns. Responsible for monthly and quarterly tax computations, related disclosures and the preparation of tax returns including federal, state, and non-income tax returns.
QualificationsRequired:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in Accounting/Finance, including internships.

Knowledge and understanding of GAAP and federal income tax rules for corporations.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam eligible.

Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and build effective relationships.

Strong technical acumen, with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications, including Copilot, and the ability to learn new processes quickly.

Strong intellectual curiosity and a general drive for continuous learning and growth.Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet timeliness and accuracy guidelines and actively protect confidential information and data.

Ability to work independently and cooperatively on teams, maintaining positive relations with customers.

Strong attention to detail.

Demonstrates analytical and research skills, including ability to recognize inconsistencies and come to a conclusion.
Preferred:
Knowledge and understanding of Statutory accounting rules for insurance companies.

Additional InformationJob Responsibilities a. Compile, document, and explain the details of differences between book and taxable income.b. Prepare premium tax returns, analyze, and report the data.c. Calculate monthly, quarterly, and annual tax computations with direction, as assigned.d. Prepare federal and state income tax returns, along with other non-income tax returns by compiling data, completing analyses, and submitting for additional review.e. Prepare and/or create error free documents and materials in a timely manner for internal/external communications, which may include creating spreadsheets and drafting technical memos.f. Maintain historical files of tax documents by topic.g. Provide information as needed for Wellsox and for financial reporting.h. Ensure compliance with tax regulatory requirements and disclosures by proactively researching and following regulatory guidelines.i. Perform comprehensive research projects and special projects to improve work process efficiency.j. Other duties as assigned.
