A Tax Specialist is responsible for documenting all stages of the accounting cycle in order to prepare Federal, State and local tax returns. Will review data prior to preparing the returns, prepare and file returns and will also provide background documentation in case of an audit.

We are a regional full service CPA firm with multiple offices around the MO, IL and WI areas (~200 employees) and are headquartered in Springfield, IL. We're coming up on 100yrs in business!
What You Will Be DoingWorks with the tax team to prepare and learn to review tax returnsHandles routine client tax questions, and works with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and complianceCompletes research and other special assignments/tasks as neededRecognizes and informs senior management of opportunities to increase level and types of services to clientsEnsures professional development through ongoing education and obtaining additional certifications as appropriateStays informed about firm capabilities other than tax compliance area, and promotes these activities to clients when appropriateWhat You Need for this PositionAt least 3 years in public accounting with an emphasis in taxationIdeally, at least 1 year in a senior seat, but experienced staff/associates are encouraged to apply!
