Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced tax associate to join its State and Local Tax practice. This opportunity is designed for someone with hands-on SALT compliance experience who is ready to deepen their technical knowledge and take on greater responsibility. Responsibilities Prepare sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions. Prepare state income and franchise tax returns. Complete tax calculations, workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Research state and local tax laws, filing requirements, and jurisdiction-specific issues. Assist with state tax notices, audits, registrations, and tax authority correspondence. Identify potential filing exposures, overpayments, and compliance opportunities. Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve tax-related questions. Support senior team members with multistate compliance and consulting projects. Manage multiple assignments and filing deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. Approximately 2-4 years of relevant tax experience, preferably within public accounting. Hands-on experience preparing sales and use tax returns. Experience preparing state income and franchise tax returns. Familiarity with multistate tax compliance and research. CPA eligible at minimum; an active CPA license is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal team members. Pay:
$85,000.00 per year
