Treasurer's Office—Motor Vehicle Clerk /
Tax Clerk I HOURS:
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; occasional overtime may be required.
SALARY:
Starting salary $17.10 - $17.20
SUPERVISOR:
Gabby Sands, Treasurer
JOB SUMMARY
Position will be responsible for registering motor vehicles, processing taxes, balancing corresponding cash drawers, preparing various correspondence, reports, receipts, numerous miscellaneous documents, phone and e-mail communications.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Other duties include: the ability to type a minimum of 50 wpm and to use a ten-key accurately and proficiently, ability to clearly and efficiently communicate with taxpayers, county employees, and the public regarding all issues. Must be able to work efficiently under pressure and multitask effectively. Must possess computer literacy to perform the requirements of this position. Basic mathematical and bookkeeping skills, data entry. Must be able to write notes efficiently and clearly. Must be able to accurately count back change to customers. Providing excellent, courteous, and efficient customer service is a priority. Must have good general office and organizational skills. Will perform other duties as assigned. Must be able to work closely with others and maintain professionalism.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, use arms, hands and fingers, speak, hear and see. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to, occasionally, lift up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3-years relevant work experience preferred and high school diploma or certified equivalent is required. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
