They turn work away. If a client is not a good fit, they would rather say no than take the revenue and make everybody's life more difficult. They also hire before they are desperate. Which sounds obvious, but anyone who has worked a busy season 2 people short knows it apparently isn't. You will work with small and mid-sized businesses, high net worth individuals and a good amount of real estate clients. The hours are sensible by public accounting standards too. Around 50 to 55 hours in February, then 55 to 60 through March and April. The rest of the year is generally around 40. It is a smaller firm, so if you want 17 layers of management and a very impressive org chart, this probably isn't it. If you want your work to be noticed, access to the people making the decisions and a genuine opportunity to progress as the firm grows, it could be a very good move.
