Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our Corporate Tax Department in Warren, MI. This role is responsible for preparing annual tax compliance tasks related to individual, trust, and business returns. The Senior Tax Associate operates independently and reports directly to the Tax Director. This position is fully onsite in Warren, MI Monday through
Friday Responsibilities:
Timely and accurately prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts, including supporting workpapers and tax entries. Prepare quarterly estimated tax payments and associated payment vouchers. Compile and analyze information in response to taxing authority audit requests. Conduct tax research to resolve technical issues and advise on complex transactions. Manage assigned projects independently with the ability to problem solve. Support the maintenance of the company's tax calendar and ensure timely filings. Maintain organized and accurate documentation for all tax filings. Collaborate with internal departments to address tax-related requests.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred). 3-5 years of experience in tax compliance. Proficiency in tax software such as CCH Axcess, OneSource, or similar platforms. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS. Experience with international compliance. We offer benefits including medical, dental, vision, 410k, and PTO!
