Now Hiring! Sales Tax Specialist
MUST HAVE
multi-state sales & use tax experience!! Experience in a B2B environment is a huge plus!!! Spanish speaking is a plus!!! We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Sales Tax Specialist to join our Finance team at Texa USA , a company that primarily operates within a B2B (business-to-business) environment . In this critical role, you will oversee and ensure compliance with sales and use tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions. Your expertise will support accurate financial reporting, streamline tax processes, and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial health in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on excellence and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns accurately and timely across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain and update tax rate tables and exemption certificates. Monitor changes in sales tax laws, regulations, and rates; implement necessary updates to internal processes accordingly. • Perform detailed analysis of sales transactions to determine taxability, exemptions, and proper rates, including reseller and exemption-based transactions common in B2B operations. Reconcile tax accounts and resolve discrepancies. Assist with tax audits and respond to notices from tax authorities. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions. Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations. Support the implementation of tax automation tools and process improvements.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in sales tax compliance, ideally within a multi-state or multi-jurisdictional environment. Knowledge of relevant laws such as securities law, wills & trusts & estate law, and non-profit accounting is a plus. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data related to sales and taxation. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with tax software (e.g., Avalara, Vertex) is a plus. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
