This position will manage a robust book of business while providing clients with expert tax preparation, planning, consulting, and accounting guidance. The ideal candidate combines strong technical tax expertise with the ability to develop trusted client relationships and lead and mentor other accounting professionals. This position offers a fast track to Partner for a high-performing professional who demonstrates strong technical expertise, client leadership, business acumen, and the ability to contribute to the continued growth of the firm. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys the personalized client relationships of a smaller accounting firm while working in an environment focused on growth, innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional development. The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $145,000 per year. However, if you possess additional valuable skill sets that could benefit the enterprise, you may be eligible for higher compensation. Responsibilities Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S, along with applicable schedules and supporting documentation. Provide proactive tax planning and consulting to individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other business entities. Manage relationships with an assigned client base and serve as a trusted advisor regarding tax and accounting matters. Review and adjust internally or externally prepared client accounting records as necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance. Communicate regularly and professionally with clients through email, phone, and video conferencing. Lead complex tax and accounting engagements while managing project timelines, priorities, resources, and deadlines. Research and resolve client tax notices and inquiries from the IRS and state taxing authorities. Represent clients during federal and state income tax audits and State Department of Labor audits when required. Coach and mentor accounting staff, helping develop their technical knowledge, client service capabilities, and careers. Maintain current knowledge of changes in federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Identify opportunities to improve internal workflows, processes, and overall client service. Qualifications 6+ years of tax-focused public accounting experience required. Extensive experience with individual, corporate, and partnership tax preparation, review, planning, and consulting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA preferred; candidates actively pursuing CPA licensure may also be considered. Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with UltraTax is a plus. Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to develop and maintain professional client relationships. Experience mentoring or leading accounting staff preferred.
