Or are you a recent Accounting graduate with a strong GPA and meaningful Tax internship experience looking for the right opportunity to launch your career? Our client is seeking a Tax Analyst to join its growing Tax team and gain broad exposure to federal, state, and local taxation within a large, sophisticated organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a foundation in public accounting - tax who wants to move beyond the traditional public accounting environment and develop expertise across tax compliance, tax accounting, research, and planning. You'll work alongside experienced Tax, Accounting, Finance, and business professionals while partnering with external tax advisors and service providers. The role offers the opportunity to build upon your public accounting foundation while gaining hands-on experience with ASC 740, multi-state taxation, tax provisions, tax research, audits, and financial reporting. What You'll Do Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns and supporting documentation. Prepare tax workpapers, reconciliations, schedules, and documentation supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions under ASC 740 . Assist with tax account reconciliations and research and resolve discrepancies. Prepare indirect tax returns and supporting workpapers, including sales and use, business personal property, and gross receipts taxes across multiple jurisdictions. Prepare monthly taxable income calculations, quarterly estimated tax payments, and member tax distributions. Assist with tax audits, research tax correspondence, and help resolve outstanding tax matters. Research federal, state, and local tax laws and monitor new and pending legislation for potential impact on the organization. Research and document technical tax matters and communicate findings to internal stakeholders. Participate in tax planning initiatives, process improvements, automation efforts, and special projects. Work closely with internal Tax, Accounting, Finance, and business teams , as well as external tax professionals. What We're Looking For We're especially interested in candidates who have built their foundation in public accounting - tax .
Ideal experience includes:
A Tax Internship in a public accounting firm with a strong academic record/GPA; or Up to 2 years of Public Accounting - Tax experience . Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field . Strong interest in developing a career in corporate taxation. Strong analytical, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. The Following Are a Plus CPA certification or progress toward the CPA. Master's in Taxation or Accounting. Experience with ASC 740 / tax provision . Exposure to federal, state, and local tax compliance. Experience with tax compliance or tax provision software. Experience with ERP systems. Financial services, mortgage banking, or other highly regulated industry experience. Why This Opportunity?
