Job Description

Tax Support Specialist IFG Financial Group | Camp Hill IFG Financial Group is a growing financial advisory firm serving retirees and pre-retirees across South Central PA. We're adding a Tax Support Specialist to our tax team — a client-facing role that bridges the gap between our advisors and our tax preparers, making sure every client's tax experience is organized, accurate, and stress-free. What You'll Do Conduct pre-tax interviews with clients to gather documents, identify life changes (retirement, inheritance, home sale, etc.), and flag issues before prep begins Conduct exit interviews after returns are prepared — walk clients through results, answer questions, and confirm nothing was missed Review completed returns for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before they go out the door (this is quality control, not full preparation) Serve as the point of contact between clients, preparers, and advisors throughout tax season Track document collection status and follow up with clients on missing items Identify planning opportunities (Roth conversions, withholding issues, missed deductions) and loop in the advisory team Maintain accurate client files and notes in our CRM/tax software What You Need 2+ years of experience in tax prep, tax support, bookkeeping, or a client-facing financial services role Working knowledge of individual (1040) tax returns — you don't need to prepare them, but you need to read one and know what you're looking at Comfortable talking to clients about their finances, including sensitive topics (income changes, health costs, family situations) Strong attention to detail — this role exists to catch what others miss Organized enough to manage multiple client files simultaneously during peak season Professional, calm demeanor — many of our clients are retirees who want to feel heard, not rushed Nice to Have Experience with tax software (Drake, UltraTax, ProSeries, or similar) Background in financial services, insurance, or wealth management PTIN or working toward one Details Seasonal intensity: Prep and Training in the fall, heavier hours January-April In-office role across our PA locations Compensation based on experience
Pay:
$23.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
